Vensure Payroll Interface Design
Study the payroll process according to the old software.
We sat next to the payroll people to understand their work-flow within the software. We found that there's only 1 or 2 frequently used buttons in each page, but there're around 10 buttons listed. We also noticed some of the pages were never been opened, such as Employee Detail Card.
The new payroll web entry page has a clear looking dashboard, which shows the summary of timesheet, weekly and monthly total payment, and a graph that reflects it. Time sheets are under each company. With a click on the employee name, opens the employee detail cards. Time sheet status is high-lighted on the left of company names. And we reduced the number of buttons to five: Import, Save, Initialize, Review, Post.
