The Palace Museum Webpage Redesign
The Palace Museum is one of my favorite place to go when I live in Beijing. Walking in the museum and looking at the ancient art-pieces collections is like immersing in Qing Dynasty. The Palace Museum has a cool Chinese webpage. The problem is, the English version looks like it haven't been updated for years. They tries to fit too much information in such a small space, which makes the whole website looks overwhelming.
I researched some world-famous museum's websites including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Louvre, and MOMA. I simplify the website to five pages: Visit, Exhibitions, Collection, News, and Contact. Just like the famous deep-red-colored walls of the Palace Museum, I choose deep red as the theme color of the website. The website was built with HTML/CSS in Adobe Dream Weaver.
