Networx is a company that connects homeowners with contractors. "Your Plans" page is what contractors use the most on their dashboard. The complex layout of the Your Plans page made it hard for the contractors to understand without contacting the Account Support. The goal of this project is to redesign the current dashboard and create an interface that can help contractors easily find what they are looking for.
The Your Plans page on current Contractor Dashboard.
Networx's Account Support team answers clients' questions about their dashboard on a daily basis. I talked to 5 of the Account Support agents and gathered a list of user pain points from them. Users are misled by ambiguous terminologies and icons without labels; they often get lost on the web app because of a confusing site map; users have trouble finding the content they're looking for.
Redesign contractor dashboard in order to improve the usability and discoverability of different features.
Lo-fi Prototype V1
I created a low-fidelity prototype and watched the Account Support agent interact with it. They can easily find out where to pause plan or edit categories. However, it shows that the service area and plan settings tab are too hidden.
Lo-fi Prototype V2
Based on the test result from prototype V1, I created another layout and got rid of the tabs. When testing the version 2 with Account Support agents, they were able to find everything by simply scrolling down the page.
These low fidelity prototypes are only the first step of revamping the whole contractor dashboard. Next we will incorporate the feedback we get from testing the lo-fi prototypes to a higher fidelity mockup and test that with real users.
