Networx Contractor Your Plan Page Redesign

Networx is a company that connects homeowners with contractors.  "Your Plans" page is what contractors use the most often on their dashboard. The complex layout of the Your Plans page made it hard for the contractors to understand without contacting the Account Support. The goal of this project is to redesign the current dashboard and create an interface that can help contractors easily find what they are looking for.

Networx's Account Support team deal with contractors' questions about their dashboard on a daily basis. I talked to 5 of the Account Support agents and gathered feedback from them.

1. Some of the words being used are confusing to our users; a lot of icons don't have a label on it so users don't know what they mean.

2. Some buttons take users somewhere else and they have no idea how to come back because of the unclear navigation.

3. A lot of unnecessary content are distracting users from finding what they're looking for.

Lo-fi Prototype V1

I created a low-fidelity prototype and watched the Account Support agent interact with it. They can easily find out where to pause plan or edit categories. However, it shows that the tab layout is not very easy for them to notice.

Based on the test result from prototype V1, I created another layout and got rid of the tabs. When testing the version 2 with Account Support agents, they were able to find everything by simply scrolling down the page.

Although the Your Plans page wireframe is just the first step of the revamp of the entire contractor dashboard, we have a clear direction now. One of the bonus advantage of this new layout is that all the editing are done in a separate page. We are going to utilize the same layout for the self-sign-up flow for the contractors, which will help saving a lot of time for the sales team when signing up new clients.
